Our Story
As our closest family and friends, you all know more about our relationship than we could adequately convey in a short summary, so we thought it'd be fun to run through some of the highlights of the 11 years we have spent together. :)
• 2013: We met in New Zealand and spent the next five months road-tripping across the most beautiful landscapes we'd ever seen.
•2014: We graduated college and took off for what we call the Great American Road Trip, aka the GAR, through most of the West. We also visited Kelsey's sister, Stephanie, in China.
• 2015: We stayed on a farm in Jamaica that Iver had interned at in college and went rock climbing in Cuba, where Iver got an infected spider bite, forcing us to leave a couple days early and couch surf in the Cayman Islands before our flight home.
• 2016: We drove the Alaska Highway, spent a month working on a goat dairy farm in exchange for room and board, and saw countless grizzly bears, moose, and whales.
• 2017: We spent three weeks working on a vineyard in the South of France and then road-tripped around Europe, visiting Toulouse, Milan, Zurich, Dijon, and Paris.
• 2018: For Kelsey's birthday, Iver booked a surprise trip to Colorado Springs where we stayed overnight in a teepee and howled with wolves at a wolf sanctuary.
• 2019: We stayed on a houseboat in Amsterdam and did falconry in Prague.
• 2020: We spent a lot of time inside, road-tripped to national parks, and moved to LA (where we were welcomed by Kelsey's brother, Michael!).
• 2021: We spent a lot of time outside — going to the beach, camping in Joshua Tree, and snowboarding (or snow-biking in Kelsey's case).
• 2022: We rode on a sailboat in San Diego, drove a golf cart around Catalina Island, and collectively fell in love with New York.
• 2023: We went back to New Zealand ten years after we met there, road-tripped around the South Island, saw some little blue penguins, and got engaged. :')
• 2024: We got obsessed with camping and spent nights in the desert, the mountains, and near the beach.
We feel so lucky that throughout our relationship we've also had such amazing family and friends to spend time with and share experiences with, whether we're in North Dakota, Illinois, Iowa, Florida, California, Colorado, New York, Washington, DC, or many places in between. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you and cannot express how grateful we are to have each of you in our lives. <3
